Fair is fair

What Highland does well

Highland is developed by acclaimed screenwriter John August alongside his dedicated development team. The application is recognized for its fast performance, distraction-free interface and strong following among detail-oriented professional writers.

Fast and clean, with no bloat on screen or under the hood
Writing sprints, goals and a distraction-free mode
PDF melting, which turns a screenplay PDF back into an editable script
Native apps for Mac, iPad and iPhone, with iCloud sync

Highland Pro remains a solid choice for writers who work exclusively within the Apple ecosystem and appreciate its minimalist plain-text writing experience. Very few applications deliver that clean, distraction-free interface quite as well.

Our verdict
